Eugene Debs

Eugene Debs was an American labor leader and founding member of the International Labor Union. Through his life, Debs was maligned, rebuffed, denounced and jailed for promoting world peace abroad and a living wage at home. The five-time U.S. Presidential candidate is celebrated for his belief in socialism without large state involvement. Debs died in 1926 at the age of 70.
